What are the Genres of Writing?

 Dear Laureate Folks,

Today, we discuss the Genres of Writing.

Let,s Start,

There are primarily two genres of writing; Fiction and Non-Fiction.

What is Fiction Writing?

It is made up of imaginations, self-created stories, day-dreaming where you usually got the ideas through your observation or inspired by reality contents. You simply write by using your sixth sense like vision, touch, hearing, taste, and smell. 

Fiction writing includes the followings:

1. Poetry like the sonnet, eulogy, Haiko, Blank Verse, Limerick, Tank, Cinquain, Epic couplet History, narratives, and Meters, etc.
2. Listicles / Fun Writing (Slogans, Taglines, Gingles, Song Writing)
3. Drama (Realistic Characteristics, Imaginations, Develop Characters, Research Literary Archetypes)
4. Novels
5. Science Fiction
6. Real Fiction
7. Myopia Mythology
8. Climate Fiction
9. Comedy Fiction (K rule, Rule of three, Comparison Joke, Funny Anecdotes, memes, jokes, Cliche & Extremities)
10. Slapstick Comedy
11. Creative Dillima (Complicating Matters)
12. Sarcasm (Self Deprecating, Brooding sarcasm, Polite sarcasm, Obnoxious sarcasm, manic Sarcasm, and Raging Sarcasm)
13. Greeting Cards (Funny, Emotional, Funeral, Condolence, Health, Chillaxing)

What is Non-Fiction Writing?

In this genre of writing, you write up things based on reality, real facts and figures, hypothesis, and a lot of research.

Non-Fiction writing includes the following:

1. Narrative Non-Fiction (Autobiography, Biography, Memoir)

2. Writing Expository Non-Fiction (exposing the truth, books, encyclopedia, databook, thesis, research, textbooks, news articles, instruction manuals, recipes, city or country guide, language books, and self-help books)

3. Writing informational Non-Fiction (Inform about the natural and social world, news, factsheets, business writings, meeting minutes, very factual and real, creating imaginary, convey factual information, be very truthful, the consciousness of responsibility)

4. Persuasive Non-fiction (Advertising, behavior change, logical arguments, Social and Developmental Sectors, Evidence, Statistics, Quotations, counterclaims, making judgments, argument building, Biasness and Propagandas by politicians and lawyers)

5. Writing Argumentative Non-fiction (argument to convince, one fact is different than other, data, fact, research, evidence, endorsement, building logical counter-arguments)

6. Writing descriptive Non-Fiction (Real Facts, truth, imaginary, description of events in reality, length debates, evaluate and revise, evoke the senses, focus on diction and detail, evocative action, use of verb and quality adjectives)

7. Writing Illustrative non-Fiction (Illustrations, Pictures, web contents, social media contents, AJ Plus)
