Information System

Marketing Department (MIS)

Management Information System (MIS) is the most suitable for the marketing department that is also helpful to reduce the operational cost (day-today expenses and cost of resources) within the department of an organization. MIS is usually used by middle-level management of the marketing department that enables them to virtually work together and ensure the flow of information.

·         Depending on the internal TPS for data and information to ensure the financial performance of all the marketing activities effectively and efficiently.

·         It helps managers in summarizing the basic marketing activities and reports with better, accurate, and fast results in a limited time horizon.

·         MIS is also used for a computerized sales management system, record & summaries daily/weekly/monthly sales activities, listing the potential customers, and automatically recording the fast-selling products.

·         Automatically generate the scheduled report, key indicator report; summarize the important performance of critical activities demand report, exception report, and drill the down report, etc.

·         Reduce the marketing and advertising cost of the department through automatically identifying customers, making customers aware of the product, selling the product, fulfilling a customer order, order processing, market analysis, pricing analysis, and sales forecasting.

Human Resource Department (TPS)

The Transaction Processing System (TPS) is the most viable option for the Human Resource Department and very helpful to reduce the operation cost within the department due to having the major source of data. It is used at the operational level in the department for monitoring the daily HR activities and other transactions of the organization. It can reduce the operational cost in the following ways:

·         Provides computerized systems that record the daily routine transactions necessary to conduct the business.

·         To answer routine questions and track the flow of transactions through the organizations.

·         It helps the HR department ease and convenience to process and disseminate information to each level of employees in the organization.

·         This information system is further reducing the operational cost in recording and maintaining the data about hiring employees, evaluating employee’s job performance, enrolling employees in benefits plans, training and development, career planning, compensation analysis, and HR planning.

·         TPS can reduce the operational cost through effective recording of sales transactions; cash deposit transactions, and payroll transactions.

·         TPS examples include Point of sales system/ order entry system, automated teller machine (ATM), payroll system, sales order, payroll, account receivable/payable, registration system, deposit, and withdrawal; purchase order, and hotel reservation, etc.

Conclusion

Based on the above-mentioned arguments, it is to be concluded that MIS and TPS are most suitable for the marketing and HR department. With the help of these information systems, we can easily reduce our manual or human resource cost, recording and storing important information and data, saving time, and overcoming other days to a day and operating expenses within and outside of the organization.
