Rise and Fall of Adolf Hitler [20 April 1889- 30 April 1945 (aged 56)]
Let’s Start,
Birth of Adolf Hitler
He was born on April 20, 1989, in Braunauam Inn which was
a small town in Austria Hungry (Austria). That town was closer to the border of
the German Empire. He was the fourth child of Mr. Alois Hitler Sr. (1837–1903)
who was also an illegitimate child of Maria Anna Schicklgruber. Thus
Adolf has taken his surname “Hitler” from his father which means “a person who
lives in a hut”. Hitler wanted to become a painter in his early childhood but
his fate taken him to join the military as a non-ranked soldier in World War 1 after
he moved to Germany in 1913. Later on, he became a military leader of the
German army.
He was born Catholic and his father was somewhat
religiously skeptical and anticlerical while his mother Klara was a devout
practicing Catholic. But he never attended Mass or received the sacraments
after leaving his home. He is often believed that “Aryan Jesus” was the one who
fought against the Jews. A famous historian Sebastian Haffner said that without the displacement of the Jews in Europe, Israel would not exist as an independent
state in the 20th century. On the other hand, Speer stated that Hitler
was in a belief that Japanese and Islam would have been the most suitable
religions for the German peoples than Christianity due to its humbleness and
flabbiness. Thus he was in a favor of Muslim beliefs and their religious
practices as an organized religion of peace, prosperity, and wellness of people.
Haffner claims that it was only Hitler who has brought worldwide changes in a relatively shorter period of time.
The ideology of Hitler about Jews
Hitler viewed the world as an arena for the permanent struggle between peoples. He divided the world population into high and low races. The Germans belonged to the high peoples and the Jews to the low ones. He also had specific notions about other peoples. The Slavic people, for instance, were cast as inferior, predestined to be dominated. His ideology is somewhat very tricky and unjust as he thought that purity of German people is only possible if the people with heredity diseases, mental and physical disabilities, alcoholic ones and other incorrigible criminals have to be removed from the society. This is why it has led him to forced sterilization and killing of almost 11 million including 6 million Jews from Europe. He thought that for a greater German empire in Eastern Europe, it is necessary to first break the influence (monetary power) of Jews and their dominance (financial gain) in the whole world. He has time and again stated that Jews are the ones who are responsible for everything wrong with the world.
History of Jews in Europe
In 1933, there were 9.5 million Jews in Europe
mostly concentrated in the east, Poland, Soviet Union, Romania, Hungry and
Germany had 3.5 million, 3 million, 800,000, 700,000 and 500,000 population accordingly.
Their (Jewish) controls were spans over a period of 2000 years. There were
approximately 9 million Jews (57% of Jews worldwide) in Europe before the start
of World War II in which 6 million were killed in the Holocaust. In the 21st
century, there are more than 20% of the Jews population in Europe where France
is dominating further followed by Ukraine, Russia, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
Hitler aimed to eliminate the Jew’s dominance from
Germany and other parts of Europe through the establishment of a new order to counter
a view about the injustice of the post World War I where Britain and France
were dominated. Hence, by the end of 1941, under his leadership, German forces
and other European powers occupied most of Europe and North Africa. But
this has been reversed gradually during World War II when the allied armies
defeated the German army.
Entry into Politics and Rise of Nazi Germany 1933–1939
After, termination of Austrian citizenship in
1925, Hitler did not acquire German nationality thus he was remained stateless
for several years. But on 25th February 1932, the interior minister Brunswick, Dietrich
Klagges (Member of Nazi Party) appointed him as an administrator of the state
delegation to the Reichsrat in Berlin and
hence, Hitler became a national of Brunswick, Germany.
After World War I, Hitler returned to Munich and
remained in the military. The German worker’s Party (DAP) chairman Anton
Drexler met with Hitler and impressed by his oratorical skills during a meeting
held on 12 September 1919. Later on, he joined the party on the orders of his
superiors. He has recorded his earliest statement about the removal of Jews altogether.
On 31 March 1920, Hitler discharged from the army and become a full-time member of
the party under the founding leadership of Dietrich
Eckart in Munich.
Later on 30 January 1933,
he has been appointed as Chancellor of Germany and became one of the most
influential leaders of the Nazi party. Historians have written that he was solely
responsible for World War II by attacking Poland on 1st September 1939. He
was leading all of the military operations throughout the war and perpetrated the Holocaust. His power resulted in rapid economic recovery after the great
depression from World War 1. He has obtained significant support from millions
of ethnic Germans too. It was only his aggressive foreign policy that became
the primary cause of World War 2. He ruled the Nazi Party autocratically by
asserting the Führerprinzip (leader principle).
Most of the historians told that it was the Nazi
regime who was responsible for the killing of millions of Jews and other
victims whom they considered as sub-humans (Untermenschen)
and are socially and morally undesirable (a burden to German society). As a
result of military action, 19.3 million civilians and 28.7 million soldiers
were dead. As Ian Kershaw, a famous historian and biographer stated that it was
the biggest ruination that never happened in history associated with just the
name of one man (Hitler).
During the political power of the Nazi party, the following steps have been taken to directly target the Jews in Eastern Europe.
1. Their economic, legal and social rights were steadily restricted.
2. There was an official boycott of their businesses.
3. Jews and other Non-Aryans have been fired from the civil services.
4. They have been disbarred in practicing law and being editors of print media or owning their own farms and journalist associations.
5. There were no more quotas for Jewish students in schools and universities.
6. They have been forced to sell their approximately 50,000 businesses to the Germans.
7. Jewish artists, authors, and composers were restrained from performances, publications and exhibitions.
8. The doctors were urged to resign or dismissed.
9 Hence, Germans are supposed to be treated by Germans as reported by Deutsches Ärzteblatt on 6th April 1933 in a medical journal.
World
War II and the Holocaust
Holocaust as defined by most historians
was a systematically destruction and genocide of the Jews in Europe during World
War 2 under the leadership of the Nazi regime. They have taken it in the sense
that Jews are the enemies of the German people and not really humans. It was Heinrich Himmler and Reinhard
Heydrich
who has organized and executed this genocide. They have also targeted other
groups like ethnic poles, handicapped, soviet civilians, gay men, political and
religious dissidents, and other prisoners of war. The murder of all these groups
is counted more than 11 million.
In December 1941, after taking charge as a commander-in-chief
of the armed forces, Hitler carried out an aggressive foreign policy that
ultimately exposed his aim towards the initiation of another world war. He has already
planned to first attack Poland. Where Poland already joined hands with
Britain as they have signed the Anglo-Polish alliance on 25 August 1939. It was
understood that offending Poland will directly result to initiate war with the
Britain Empire. Therefore, Hitler had already declared Britain as the main
enemy that needs to be defeated. On the other hand, Britain has the strongest
ally of France, Russia, and America. Thus, it was not the easiest choice for
Adolf Hitler to initiate World War 2 even knowing the strength of his enemies. He
just knew that his army will be defeated against these powerful armies still he
went for this choice having an aim to eliminate or break the Jew’s influence on
eastern Europe and he did that.
Hitler was unstoppable, and finally initiated
military mobilization against Poland on 22nd August 1939. He was having
a list of allies that were Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia,
Hungry, Italy, Finland, and Japan, Albania, Austria, Baltic States, Belgium,
Independent state of Croatia, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Greece, Hungary,
Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Serbia.
In response to that, Britain and
France declared war on Germany on 3 September,
whereas the Soviets forced to attack Poland on 17th September. Though Hitler
has initiated this war it was Britain and France who had officially
declared this as a world war 2. These powers knew that there is only a single
man behind this world war therefore they have turned it against Germany only. Upon
this opposite reaction, Hitler has been disconnected from reality and lacks decision-making power where he blindly believed to deliver victory only
under his leadership. Here, he went wrong and made the biggest mistakes by refusing
negotiations, peace, and surrender before his powerful enemies. On the other
hand, the German military was still supporting Hitler’s dominance and decisions. At
last, Western Allies and Red Army both were advancing into Germany by the late
1944. When Hitler sees that he has been badly defeated and instead to
surrender, he called on his longtime love Eva Braun and married her in a small
civil ceremony on 29th April 1945 in Berlin. On the next day, they
both preferred to commit suicide instead of being captured alive by the Soviet
Red Army. Hitler, shot on his head while Braun took a cyanide capsule. Their corpses
were burnt behind the Reich Chancellery.
Finally, the chapter of Adolf Hitler is closed
on 30th April 1945 in Führerbunker, Berlin, Germany.
Friends, this was all about the rise and fall of a great
dictator in history. We have learned that every rise must have a fall too.
Stay Tuned, Stay Blessed!
